about the artist

I'm known as Alexus Elaine. I'm a self-taught oil painter who persists in uncovering the deeper connection of myself within the universe. My work showcases dark, moody abstracted landscapes and sometimes other spooky things. I create by exploring the world within me. I then shatter the physical understanding to bring deeper connection into this realm. My work is relatable to the struggle it is to grow, live, and survive in this world. I am neuro-diverse, a trauma survivor, and a deep feeling human. I recreate my own experiences in a way that allows me to process, understand, and heal. I don't sit on the surface, I dive deep beneath it.

My work is slow crafted. A single painting takes me multiple sessions over several months to create. I take time to reflect and navigate the complex inner-workings of the human experience. I allow my work to come to me, which is why every painting is unique and one of a kind. They cannot be replicated because each one has a specific story to tell. As I grow so does my work. I will continue to evolve and shift with the tides of my understanding.
